Each participant gets a handheld keypad that does exactly what it’s supposed to: register a vote and transmit it to the receiver. No browser. No app to install. No login screen. No notifications. Nothing on the device to distract participants from the question on the screen.

The keypad is the entire interface — press a number, you’ve voted. That simplicity is why our clients choose dedicated hardware over BYOD polling: every participant has the same experience, regardless of their phone, their tech comfort level, or whether they remembered to charge their device that morning.

Communication Designed for Reliability

Padgett Plus keypads use 2.4 GHz frequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) radio communication — the same technology proven in environments where wireless reliability matters. FHSS gives the system three things ordinary Wi-Fi polling can’t:

• Range and stability in large rooms with thousands of participants
• Immunity to interference from the dozens of other wireless devices in any modern venue
• Independence from your venue’s network — keypads talk directly to a Padgett receiver, not through the building’s Wi-Fi

Built-in Wi-Fi avoidance keeps the system performing in the most crowded RF environments, including hotels and conference centers where every guest is on the network.
